Artist statement
Eve Lam Man Sin (b. 1996, Hong Kong) is a multidisciplinary artist and first-generation immigrant based in London. Her work navigates the layered intersections of anthropology, the framework of community within capitalism, and mythology, examining how these forces shape both personal and collective identities.
Through a diverse practice spanning art, community engagement, and fashion, Eve explores the ways in which stories and objects anchors individuals within distinct moments, places, and states of mind. Engaging with shared human experiences, social ethics, and mythological narratives, her work creates a contemplative space to explore belonging and connection. Through ancestral knowledge and universal emotions, Eve seeks to unearth the subtle threads that connect us all, transcending cultural and historical boundaries.
Her practice is an ongoing inquiry into the ties that bind us across borders, time, and place. Moving within the fluid interstices of past, present, and future, Eve embraces the “betwixt and between” as a fertile realm of curiosity, reflection, and discovery.
