Artist statement
Eve Lam Man Sin (b. 1996, Hong Kong) is a queer multidisciplinary artist and first-generation immigrant based in London. Working across sculpture, jewellery, installation, and community engagement, her practice explores how belonging is constructed through objects, stories, and collective rituals. Drawing from anthropology, mythology, and lived experiences of migration, she examines the ways personal and cultural identities are shaped within the tensions of capitalism, tradition, and community.
Using found and mass-produced materials, Eve transforms everyday objects into vessels for memory, exploring their capacity to carry histories, beliefs, and emotional attachments across generations and geographies. Her work is informed by ancestral knowledge, folklore, and social exchange, creating spaces where individual experiences intersect with collective narratives. Through acts of making and participation, she investigates how objects can function as contemporary talismans—anchoring people to places, communities, and evolving senses of self.
Positioned between art, fashion, and socially engaged practice, Eve’s work embraces the liminal and the in-between. Through sculpture and collaborative encounters, she explores how meaning is continually negotiated across borders, cultures, and time, revealing the fragile yet enduring threads that connect us to one another.
