Look at me, one more time
“Look at Me, One More Time” is a series of jewellery objects that reframe mass-produced items, each marked by subtle traces of human presence. The collection is draws on consumerism’s overlooked by-products to question how societal perceptions of value are constructed and reinforced. Creating a dialogue on how our generation assigns meaning to objects, often shaped by standardised norms and capitalist narratives.
I began by gathering items from streets and charity shops, transforming the familiar and the discarded into intimate symbols. Jewellery, as a medium, provides a uniquely personal connection between creator and wearer — a space where personal and collective memory meet. Placing these found objects within a jewellery context removes their original identities, inviting new narratives as they are transformed into characters that balance recognisability with new-found wearability.
Through unexpected assemblages, the series seeks to disrupt conventional assumptions about purpose and adornment, allowing each piece to exist beyond its original function. “Look at Me, One More Time” invites a closer look at how we perceive and revalue the everyday.
